In the comments, the poster mentioned he&#8217;d used a Jeep TJ rollbar as a base, cut it down, fabbed his own mounting plates, and made it all work. I commented that I would love to see more pictures of his setup, and it turns out he&#8217;s actually on the Binder Planet in a thread I&#8217;ve looked at before. He bought <a href=\"http:\/\/www.binderplanet.com\/forums\/index.php?threads\/toms-79-woodbine-beaster-canadian-no-longer-a-mess-ssii.135687\/page-13#post-1061336\">the whole cage two years ago for $100<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.binderplanet.com\/forums\/index.php?threads\/toms-79-woodbine-beaster-canadian-no-longer-a-mess-ssii.135687\/page-14#post-1064411\">had the whole thing mocked up<\/a> a month later.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.billdugan.com\/scout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TJ_rollbar.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2321\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.billdugan.com\/scout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TJ_rollbar.jpg?resize=816%2C459\" alt=\"\" width=\"816\" height=\"459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.billdugan.com\/scout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TJ_rollbar.jpg?w=816&amp;ssl=1 816w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.billdugan.com\/scout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TJ_rollbar.jpg?resize=500%2C281&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.billdugan.com\/scout\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TJ_rollbar.jpg?resize=768%2C432&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 816px) 100vw, 816px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What I like about it is that it&#8217;s a square cage that surrounds the passenger area\u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/www.binderplanet.com\/forums\/index.php?threads\/toms-79-woodbine-beaster-canadian-no-longer-a-mess-ssii.135687\/page-14#post-1065464\">the rear of the cage fits over the rear seat<\/a> so there&#8217;s more protection, and the whole thing has built-in shoulder belts. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.binderplanet.com\/forums\/index.php?threads\/toms-79-woodbine-beaster-canadian-no-longer-a-mess-ssii.135687\/page-16#post-1068532\">I like the look of it<\/a>, and I love the fact that there are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.binderplanet.com\/forums\/index.php?threads\/toms-79-woodbine-beaster-canadian-no-longer-a-mess-ssii.135687\/page-15#post-1066160\">a ton of aftermarket products<\/a> for the TJ bars\u2014padding, speaker bars, new belts, and lights.<\/p>\n<p>Our local junkyard has a Wrangler in stock every once in a while, and &#8220;large rollbars&#8221; are listed at $100.<\/p>\n<p>I really think I&#8217;m going to be purchasing a welder this year&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I saw a post on Instagram a couple of days ago featuring a mint-colored Scout with an interesting roll bar setup.
